balance, part I

This video introduces you to the rhetorical scheme of balance. (If you don’t know what a scheme is, then start here.) Part One is about grammatical parallelism, or the art of giving aspects of coordination the same grammatical form. Part Two, which you can watch here, is about rhetorical balance—using various rhetorical strategies to create a feeling of symmetry, thereby creating expectation in your readers.
